Dune Sanskrit – Mayan Prophecy Typography

Dune Sanskrit is a commercial font that was released in 2009 and it has been revised in 2010. The font was dedicated to the life of Lord Pakal Ahau, our Maya director of the Pakalian Group of Mexico.

The font was called Dune as a tribute to the sci-fi writer Frank Herbert who wrote the Dune series. The first novel Dune was inspired in the oral tribal traditions of the prophetic return of a Mayan king under poor ecological conditions when Herbert lived in Mexico and finally the novel was published in 1965.

In the design of the font, male sexual features (Naga style) were included that are only noticeable as the font is enlarged in size. Below you can see the alphabet image and a 3D composite. If you want to license this commercial font, contact darkvotum at gmail.
