Zoot Chicano Font – Mexican American Typography

This is my new commercial font based on Mexican-American cultural roots. Looking at the Zoot Suit movie title I think Director Luis Valdez missed the chance to establish a full visual communication identity in the movie title presentation (1981).

So, this new typeface reflects a better flavor of the Mexican-American typography and street styles of East Los Angeles Chicano barrio power. Slanted at the top and baggy at the bottom.¬† If you don’t know too much about the Sleepy Lagoon murder trial – when a group of young Mexican-Americans were wrongfully charged with murder, and the Zoot Suit Riots, click this link to read further.

Below is my image prepared with the Zoot Chicano font hoping that new Mexican-American movies or Chicano plays get a better influence from my professional work. The font is available for licensing if you’re interested. Another American original typeface!
