Count Dracula Logo – Ornamental Font Design
If you are an amateur designer, I recommend your studies, whether professional or not, are based first on typography. You should be able to memorize the name of the most popular fonts and recognize them within five seconds wherever you see the styles.
Corel, for example, gives categories for fonts as follows – basic, education, magazine, newspaper, newsletter, advertising, office, signs, presentations, book, brochure, special occasion, technical, quickcopy, and other. You should have in your digital library selected or most used fonts for each category.
Designing, as an exercise, the Count Dracula Logo, I selected an early font of 1900. The ornamental typeface works well with the dark theme. Colors are chosen based on Gestalt’s emotional color theory, which is another subject to research. Notice also there is no additional drama imagery.
The high resolution print is available in the Magicians section should you want to wear a great tshirt theme for Halloween or Christmas parties. Nevertheless, you are not restricted to holidays.
Also, if you want to look how I designed my Tweeter page with the Dark Votum theme, you can visit it here.
